Project description:

Silica wafers are common parts for solar cell technologies and green energy harvesting. Their quantum chemical properties designate their electro-physical features which make them suitable as conducting units in wafer cells. Their size and shape can however affect their properties, particularly accounting also for chemical modifications and surface properties. This project developes on the effects from size, shape and level of halogenation of silica nanoparticles, and the outcomes from these modification on the electronic properties and the different electro-physical profiles for conductive and catalytic properties of a new type of silica solar cells. This project is of central relevance with wafer cell engineering and solar cell technology development.
